Nose: wood smoke, earthy, peet. Caramel dark chocolate candies and/or toffee. A hint of vanilla, vanilla extract that has been cooked (nearly burned), to a smoky consistency
Mouthfeel: smooth and cool. Coats the mouth nicely, faintly oily but nothing extreme.
Taste: much more lively wood smoke - I believe oak, though I don't know my wood names/smells/flavors well enough to say this with certainty. There is a sweetness here and so many flavors not named that I almost feel bad not taking a lot more time with this review. Almost.
Finish: no burn. Fades to sweetness relatively quickly. Hints of smoky wood and peet remain in the sweetness. So. Good. On my first time with this whiskey (and even to this day) I kept licking my lips and even flicking my tongue like a snake. Not sure why that is...
